Telemedicine Bills Pass Texas and Oregon House

Last week, a pair of Association for Clinical Oncology (ASCO)-supported telemedicine bills passed their respective House chambers. Texas HB 4 and Oregon HB 2508 both look to keep telemedicine expansions in 2020 permanently in place. This includes reimbursement for audio-only appointments and reimbursement parity with in-person appointments. ASCO and the Texas Society of Clinical Oncology (TxSCO) sent a joint letter of support for HB 4; ASCO also sent a joint letter of support with the Oregon Society of Medical Oncology (OSMO) for HB 2508. The bills await further consideration in the Senate; strong support in the House is indicative of likely support in the Senate.
